Class 141 A protector for use with infants' napkins comprises a flexible impervious sheet having a set of inwardly folded parts adapted to overlie the edges of a napkin and to provide, together with a second set of inwardly folded parts a double trough formation. In one form. Figs. 1 and 2 a hem D is upturned around all four edges of the sheet A to form a continuous trough F for receiving the edges of a napkin G, and two inwardly folded pleats B provided a second trough formation K. A further set of pleats B<SP>1</SP> may also be provided. Tucks may be formed in the longer hems D, and the pleats B, B<SP>1</SP> may be inwardly curved. Eyelets H or' end tabs are provided for securing the protector to an outer covering; alternatively ,tapes may be attached to the corners for tying the protector around the infant's waist. In a modification, Fig. 3, the protector has press studs L and elastic portions M for fitting it around the infant; the outer hem D is omitted, the double trough K, K' being formed by the pleats B, B<SP>1</SP>. In both forms, the pleats B, B<SP>1</SP> may extend transversely of the sheet instead of lengthwise as shown. The Provisional Specification describes also protectors having no medial trough, but only a single or double peripheral trough.
