Abstract

671,106. Napkin covers. DONOVAN, M. April 20, 1950 [May 5, 1949], No. 9721/50. Class 141. A waterproof diaper cover comprises a backing sheet, longitudinally arcuate side walls attached along opposing side portions thereof, and side flaps attached to the opposite edges of the side walls. As shown, the side flaps 17, 18 extend inwardly and are secured to concave edges of the side walls 20, 19 respectively, the convex edges of the walls being secured to the backing sheet 11. End flaps 14, 15 and the side flaps 17, 18 preferably have free inner edges to enable the diaper to be inserted easily but, alternatively, the inner edges of the end flaps may be secured to the side flaps. Sets of snap fasteners 23, 24 are provided at the corners to enable the cover to be adjustably secured in position. Additional fasteners 25 may be provided to decrease the size of the leg openings. Alternative fastening means comprises a hook, preferably attached to a piece of elastic at each side of one end, selectively engaging one of a set of eyes preferably provided on a pair of reinforcing pieces of material at the other end.
