Abstract

657,363. Surgical appliances. WOOD, C. E. Feb. 7, 1949, No. 3370. [Class 81(ii)] A colostomy belt is so constructed as to allow the cup to be fitted or removed without removal of the belt. In the form described the belt is secured around the body by straps 1 and has an elastic insert 3 to ensure a close fitting. Adjacent to the colostomy opening it has a waterproof section 4 having a hole 5 which is normally covered by a dressing held by a flap 6, this being secured in place by buttons 8 and a further strap 9. A cup may be secured in place of the dressing by studs engaging holes 13 in side strips 11.
