Abstract

1,133,502. Diapers. KIMBERLEY-CLARK CORP. 24 Jan., 1966 [29 Jan., 1965], No. 3114/66. Heading A3V. An inner absorbent pad 12, coextensive on three sides with an outer fluid-impervious layer 16 and inner fluid-pervious layer 14 is cut away along the edge 17 to leave the region 19 adjacent to the front edge of the diaper in use free of absorbent material. The absorbent pad may comprise cotton or cellulosic fluff, or several layers of cellulosic wadding. The layer 14 may be a hydrophobic non-woven bonded web of nylon, polyester or acrylic fibres. The layer 16 may be polyethylene sheet or a laminate of polyethylene film and creped cellulosic wadding sheet. The diaper is secured on the user by pressure-sensitive tapes 22 on the front or rear edge.
