Abstract

1,127,089. Diapers. JOHNSON & JOHNSON. 19 April, 1967 [9 May, 1966], No. 17974/67. Heading A3V. [Also in Division B5] A diaper folded as in Fig. 1 comprises an absorbent pad 12 enclosed between a water pervious cover sheet 10 and an absorbent bottom sheet 11 the underside of which is coated with a water impervious film 15 except at the end portions 20, 21 which are folded over and secured to the cover sheet 10. As described, the pad 12 is formed of wood pulp, the sheets 10, 11 of absorbent non woven materials of short cellulosic fibres and the film 15 formed by extrusion coating the sheet surface 11 with polyethylene, the side edges (19) of which are beaded to strengthen the waistband portions 20, 21 of the diaper. The folded sides of the diaper are anchored by adhesive spots 27.
