Abstract

1,030,412. Catamenial appliances. OTAFUKU WATA KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Feb. 5,1963 [April 13, 1962; April 14, 1962], No. 4708/63. Heading A5R. A sanitary pad is made from a folded rectangular fibrous web, the web before folding containing an adhesive in spaced stripes 2 and having perforations 3 in a central area Q, the non-perforated portions 4 of the web on opposite sides of the central area being impregnated with a water repellant substance. The adhesive may be an emulsion of vinyl acetate. A water repellant of the paraffin group is used. The web is either wrapped around a separate cotton pad or folded to form a pad, the perforate portion being disposed so that it may be placed against the wearer's body.
