957,739. Reversible windows. R. WERNER. July 12, 1961 [July 12, 1960], No. 25240/61. Heading E1J. A reversible window with horizontal pivots 3 which slide and rotate in grooves 4 formed in the upper part of a frame 1 is supported by levers 5 pivotally connected to the windows and frame which are accommodated, when the window is closed, in recesses 11, 12 formed in the window and frame respectively. Pins 15 on the levers co-operate with inclined plates 16 on the window and frame to move the lower ends of the levers out of the frame recesses 12 so that the levers clear the un-recessed part 14 of the frame when the window is opened outwards and moves the upper end of the levers out of the window recesses 11 so that they clear the un-recessed part 13 of the window when the window is opened inwardly. The movement of the lever ends in the axial direction of their pivots acts against the action of associated pivot springs. The gap between the window and frame is sealed externally by a deformable rubber-seal attached to the window and internally by a blind frame 19 hinged 21 to the window frame.
