Abstract
1,008,529. Door operating appliances; latches; remotely controlled fastenings. CENTOR PRODUCTS PTY Ltd. Sept. 29, 1964 [Sept. 30, 1963], No. 39626/64. Headings E2A and E2M. A control mechanism for sliding folding doors has interconnected upper and lower bolt engagement members 26, 30 spring urged at 24 into contact with co-acting catch members 27, 46 respectively when the door is closed. On sliding the catch member 27 out of engagement with the upper bolt member 26 by means of a cord 36 or by electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic devices, the lower members 30, 46 are freed simultaneously and the doors are urged to the open position by means of counterweights 17 or torsion springs. During the final stages of the door closing the upper bolt member 26 bears against the wedge surface 38 of catch member 27 and is finally seated within a recess 40 while at this point the lower members 30, 46 are urged into engagement thus automatically locking the door.
