A friction type window hinge comprise two complemental members 1 and 9, member I carrying a pin 8 adapted to pivot in a seat 13 in member 9 and being provided with an arcuate rim 3 adapted to slide in a correspondingly shaped channel 11 in member 9, the rim 3 having slots 5 which act as anchor points for one or more springs 6 which will bear against the convex side of the channel when the two members are interconnected.
