Abstract

915,654. Chains. HOY & CO. Ltd., AUSTIN. Aug. 30, 1960 [April 8, 1960], No. 12595/60. Addition to 840,051. Class 24. The lip or flange at one end of the coal-cutter chain hinge pin of the parent Specification is dispensed with, the pin instead being of reduced diameter at one end and the chain links formed accordingly with one of each pair of spaced eyes if less diameter than the other. In one form (not shown), the locking means is otherwise identical with that of the parent Specification. In the form shown, the axial bore in the hinge pin 34 communicates with lateral slots at both its ends so that the retaining pin 42 may be bent over at both ends as shown. In both forms the links may be hermaphoroditic, as in the parent Specification, or non-hermaphroditic.
