577,379. Stays ; hinges. ELLIS, T. L. Nov. 11, 1944, No. 22253. [Classes 65 (i) and 65 (ii)] A stay for a door or the like comprises two links 10, 11 pivoted to attachment brackets and connected by a pivot pin 12 carrying a spring which presses the links together, one link 11 being provided with a projection.or projections 26 which snap into a recess or recesses 25 in the other link to hold the links yieldingly in extended position before they reach a straight-line position. In the form shown, the edges of the link 10 are bevelled as at 28, to enable them to ride easily over the projection 26. One or each link may have a stop lug engaging the other link to prevent the links moving beyond the locking position.
