Abstract

696,977. Hasp fastenings; hinges. CHENEY, & SON, Ltd., C. W., and CHENEY, C. W. Nov. 12, 1951 [April 11, 1951], No. 8425/51. Classes 44 and 65 (ii) The hasp, e.g. for an attache case fastening comprises an attachment plate having a boundary flange 2 and hinge lugs 4, 5 bridged by a hooded portion 3 and an intermediate link 12 having side flanges 14, 15 and a hooded portion 13, the securing plate being connected to the link by hinge studs 24, 25, or a cross-pin, and the hasp plate 6 being connected to the link by a hinge pin 18. A spring 21 surrounding the pin 18 urges the hasp plate to the open position of Fig. 1. The intermediate link allows for differences of alignment between the lid of the case and the surface of the hasp fastening on the body of the case. When two cross-pins are used each may be provided with a spring.
