898,230. Toggle fastenings. CHENEY & SON Ltd., C. W., and TOMKINSON, F. M., CHENEY, H. W., and SHERWOOD, G. M., [Representatives of CHENEY, C. W.]. Dec. 21, 1959 [Oct. 21, 1958], No. 33533/58 Class 44. A toggle fastening for a box having a lid made in two sections each of which may be hinged to the body of the box so that in the closed position the free ends of the sections meet at a common joint 8, comprises an attachment plate 19 secured to the box body, a manually operable lever member 20 pivoted at 22 to the plate 19 and loaded by an overcentre spring engagement of a tongue 27 thereon with a blade spring 28 secured to the plate 19, a hasp link 23 pivoted at 25 to the lever member 20 and a catch plate 14 in two parts which are attached to the respective two sections of the lid, the link 23 having a hooked or looped end 26 for engagement with the catch plate.
