Hasp fastenings.-A fastening for boxes &c. comprises a loop a hinged to one part and having undercuts or hooks a<2> to engage the ends of a cross-piece d<2> on a bar d hinged to the other part of the box or the like. The pivot b is arranged in front of the pivot e so that the lid is tightly and firmly closed when the parts of the fastening are engaged and the loop a pressed back against the box. The cross-piece d<2> may consist of pins on a nut adjustable on the bar d.
