Abstract
245,231. Cheney, C. W. Oct. 29, 1924. Stud-and-socket fastenings.-In fastening for attachÚ cases a raised portion g<2> is provided on the bolt-casing a to provide a socket for a notched tongue c on the lid of the case. A spring plunger h may be provided to press the tongue upwardly after release from the bolt d. The socket and tongue may be prolonged to extend across the casing a and several notches may be provided in the tongue so that the bolt d engages therewith even when the case is not fully closed. In a further modification the raised portion g<2>, Fig. 6, is provided with a number of holes c<4> and a spring peg d, carried by the tongue c<2> is adapted to engage one of these holes. A keyoperater locking-piece i can be moved behind the peg to hold it in engagement with one of the holes. In these modifications the tongue is hinged to its carrier plate to allow the necessary angular movement or it may be doubly hinged.
