Abstract

332,494. Mervelay, L. Nov. 27, 1928, [Convention date]. Hasp fastenings; fastenings for boxes.-A fastening for boxes, trunks, &c. comprises a rocking plate 9 on the box 6 with an inturned upper end 10 adapted to engage a projection 11 on the lid 13. The plate has a projection 14 located near its pivot 7 adapted to snap over a ridge on a plate-spring 15 which holds the plate in either of its two positions. The plate and spring are mounted in a casing 4 which has a projection 17 adapted to engage in a recess 18 in projection 11 when lid 13 is closed. The plate is rocked by pressure applied at the appropriate side of the pivot.
