337,555. Cheney, C. W. Oct. 8, 1929. Hasp fastenings.-A hasp in the form of a first-order lever has a link hinged to the short arm of the hasp to forcibly draw the lid close. The hasp g, Fig. 2, has a pivot bar g<2> and is extended at g<4> to form bearings for a link h which engages the boss i of the lock. The hasp has lugs r entering recesses o in the lock and receiving the ends of the lock-bolt, or a single lug may enter a slot in the lock. The link may surround the hasp or may be concealed by the hasp. In a modification, Fig. 5, the link h has a hooked end h<4> engaging a slot in the lock s.
