Abstract

850,806. Toggle stays. AUSTER Ltd., and SMALL, W. W. July 1, 1958 [July 9, 1957], No. 21667/57. Class 65(1). The toggle joint of a two-part stay for a vehicle window is acted upon by a spring catch to prevent accidental displacement. The stay comprises a link 4 of inverted channel section pivoted to the window 2 (not shown) and carrying a spring catch 19, and a link 3, pivoted to the window frame and between the limbs of link 4 at 14, which has a rounded end 18 over which the end of catch 19 slides before engaging a stepped portion 17 of the link 3. The link 3 carries a stop 15 which passes through a hole 16 in link 4 when the stay is folded.
