957,697. spectacle frames. HENRY GUILLET & CIE S.A. Oct. 11, 1962 [Oct. 11, 1961], No. 38618/62. Heading G2J. A spectacle frame has grooved and split lens rims 2, each rim having two rearward extending lugs 7, 8 and means, for example pins 4 and recesses 5, for preventing transverse shifting of the lugs when they are clamped together by means of a flanged strap 16, pivoted at 15, to lug 8. Preferably, and as shown, lug 8 has an extension 12 which together with pin 15 forms part of the hinge between the side'piece and front part of the frame. The flanged strap 16 is held in its lens rim closing position either by means of bosses 17 and recesses 10, as shown, or its flanges may be elastically incurved to grip the lugs.
