Abstract

239,752. Lyon, F. H. C. Dec. 13, 1924. Spectacles. - Non- metallic spectacle frames have the side pieces hinged to the frame about an axis displamd from the plane of the rims so that they lie closely against the rims when folded. This is effected by mounting the side pieces 13, 14 on a pivot 22 passing through a lug 20 of non-metallic material secured between the projecting portions 15, 16 of the rims 10, 11. The lug 20 is secured in place by screws 21 and extends away from the plane of the rim as shown. In a modification the lug 20 is secured in a recess at the end of the junction between the projecting portions 15, 16.
