Abstract

1373457 Pivots ESSILOR INTERNATIONAL (COMPAGNIE GENERALE D'OPTIQUE) 15 Nov 1972 [16 Nov 1971] 52801/72 Heading E2F [Also in Division B6] A pair of compasses comprises legs 1, 2 pivotably attached by a pin 3 passing through holes in circular end pieces as at 2a of the respective legs; the end pieces being between legs of a U-shaped member 4, and a pair of links 9, 10 each pivoted at 20 to a respective circular end piece and at 18 to one another, the pivot point 18 being guided in grooves such as 19 in the interior surfaces of the legs of the U-shaped member 4. The arrrangement being such that the links 9, 10 remain substantially entirely concealed by the legs of the U- shaped member irrespective of the angular position of the legs 1, 2.
