Abstract
956,542. Valves. KING-SEELEY THERMOS CO. Nov. 14, 1962 [Jan. 26, 1962], No. 43039/62 Heading F2V. The outlet port 46 of sealed gas valve 10, e.g. for a domestic stove, is valved by a silicone rubber seal 42 attached to the free end of a fixed bi-metallic strip 28, in two portions having reversely disposed strips for ambient temperature compensation, and around the portion nearest the fixed end of which is wound an insulated electrical heater 50 welded at one end 52 to the bi-metallic strip. The valve is maintained open by deflection of strip 28 as the heater 50 is energized via pre-tensioned contacts 60, 62.
