A fluid control valve in which a heat-expansible element 16, heated by electrical resistance heating, operates a valve 15, has the element itself providing the electrical heating resistance. The metallic element bows upward and opens the valve when heated. In another embodiment the element is a bimetal U-shaped lever secured to the casing at the ends of its arms and carrying the valve at the junction of the arms. In a further embodiment the element is a rod which moves a spring-loaded lever carrying the valve.
