Abstract

1366339 Valves SATCHWELL CONTROLS Ltd 26 Jan 1973 [29 Dec 1971] 60618/71 Heading F2V In a solenoid-operated gas control valve in which a member 6 transmitting the movement of an armature 7 to a closure member 4 is sealed and connected to a diaphragm 10, the arms of the diaphragm and the closure member subjected to the gas pressure are such that the force on the diaphragm tending to open the valve is substantially equal to or less than that on the closure member itself tending to close the valve. Two such valves may be connected in series, the gas passing in opposite directions through the two valves. When used to control a gas heater the first valve is the main control and the second a burner control, a feed for a pilot burner being taken from between the two valves. A pressure regulator may be incorporated between the two valves and between the pilot burner feed point.
