Abstract

The fluid pressure in a conduit 1, is controlled by a vent valve 7, the stem 13 of which is connected to the base 12 of a bellows 9 subjected externally to a fluid pressure P 1 . A second bellows 11 is connected to the valve 7 to define with the first bellows an evacuated chamber. The valve member is balanced with respect to the pressure in the chamber 4. In another example, the vent valve 24 constitutes the base of a bellows 25 which receives a fluid pressure P 1 . The valve is connected to a disc 28 forming the base of an evacuated bellows 31, the disc area being such that the valve 24 is balanced with reference to the pressure in the chamber 33.
