Abstract

939,085. Bottle crates. SPEMBLY Ltd., and L. H. A. BUCHAN. May 8, 1962 [May 9, 1961], No. 16761/61. Class 18. An open-mouthed bottle crate comprises longitudinal and transverse partitions 8a, 8b and 8c, said crate being made in one piece from high density polythene or other plastics materials in a single operation using an injection moulding process. Corner posts 4 formed integral with the crate separate ribs 2 and 5 at the bottom and top of the crate and provide a shoulder 4a to support a superposed crate, stacking being facilitated by the fact that the base of the crate is narrower than said open mouth. A vertical member 10 is introduced to prevent the formation of a weld during the moulding process. Single apertures 9 (not shown) are provided in the base of each compartment to facilitate draining. In the drawings accompanying the Provisional Specification (not shown) the partitions 8 comprise a single member and the apertures 9 are replaced by a plurality of smaller apertures.
