Abstract

932,866. Frets for open fireplaces. MARSDEN & BATESON Ltd. May 24, 1962 [July 1, 1961], No. 23842/61. Class 126. A fret for an open fireplace comprises spaced arcuate back 10 and front 11 portions both formed from sheet-metal and fastened by nuts engaging secured bolts 14 extending rearwardly from straps 12 jointing indented upper and lower flanges 113 of the front 11. The back has combustion air inlets 101, fitting holes 104 and 103 and end flanges 102 and the front, which is chromium-plated brass, has end flanges 114 and a wire cage handle fixed by a screw 17. The space between the portions may be filled with heat-resistant material such as asbestos sheet, fibre glass or asbestos wool.
