Zinc oxide is incorporated into the paper support, or a layer thereof is provided, adjacent to the image-receiving layer used in the silver halide transfer reversal process to neutralize alkaline developer remaining therein after the transfer procedure. An example describes exposure to a document of a chloride emulsion containing hydroquinone and an antifoggant on a paper support, treatment with an alkaline solution containing hydroquinone, 1-phenyl-3- pyrazolidone and sodium sulphite, and before development is completed squeegee contact with the paper receiving sheet carrying first a gelatine layer containing the zinc oxide and then one containing hypo, colloidal silver sulphide and a blue-black addition agent as of Specification 861,255.
