Class 98(2) In a migratory transfer reversal process, an exposed and partially completely developed silver halide layer is contacted with a reception layer containing development nuclei in the combined presence of an alkaline solution, 2 - mercapto-thiazoline, benztriazole, a high-energy developing agent and a silver halide solvent. Any or all of the 2 - mercapto-thiazoline, the benztriazole and the developer may be present in the light-sensitive ,layer, the reception layer or the alkaline solution. In the example, a silver chloride emulsion containing hydroquinone is exposed and impregnated, together with a reception paper containing development nuclei such as colloidal silver or cobalt sulphide in an aqueous bath containing caustic soda, hypo, hydroquinone, 2-mercapto-thiazoline, benztriazole and sodium sulphite. After a few seconds the sheets are removed from the bath and pressed together to effect transfer, which is complete in 30 seconds.
