Abstract

[Also in Group XXVIII] An injector device for mixing liquids comprises a moulded hard rubber body having a chamber 1 designed for mounting on a water tap and to contain a non-return valve, not shown; and a Venturi 2, 3, 4 the throat 3 of which has an inlet port 6 for secondary liquid communicating with a valve chamber 5. In Fig. 3, secondary liquid passes by the passage 9 to a circumferential groove 12 in the liner 11, and thence through passages 13 and 17 to the interior of the valve body 14, which is rotatable by the handle 22 to place the passage 21, 21a in register with the inlet 6 as shown. The rate of flow of the secondary fluid is controllable by adjustment of the axial position of the end of the threaded rod 24 in relation to the passage 21. A deflector plate may be fitted in or before the convergent section 2 of tne Venturi to promote turbulence and increase stability at high-flow rates. The preferred dimensions of the Venturi are described with reference to Specifications 805,046 and 858,653. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the valve is modified so that the spring 20 does not come into contact with the secondary liquid. Specification 887,211 also is referred to.
