Abstract

A cock with a nozzle 9 which may be changed to suit the kind of gas being used has a by-pass 13 feeding an inlet 15 in the nozzle to determine the minimum flow rate when the main shut-off member 4 is closed, the maximum flow rate being determined by an outlet 11 in the nozzle when the member 4 is open. The nozzle has a threaded portion 17 screwed into the body of the cock and an extension 18 provided with a resilient annular seal 19. A spherical face on the head 16 of the nozzle abuts a plane surface on the body to form a further seal. A radial port in the member 4 which communicates with the by-pass through a part circumferential groove 12 may be turned into and out of register with a radial part in the body.
