Abstract

921,359. Aerating devices. V. C. V. NIELSEN. Nov. 19, 1959 [Dec. 6, 1958], No. 39311/59. Class 14(1). An aerating device attached to the outlet of a liquid conduit, e.g. a water faucet or tap, has air intake openings 12, Fig. 2, and liquid passage openings 22, Fig. 4, located between a collar 10 and a disc 14 provided with a break-up and mixing body 15, the openings 22 having a total flow area which is at least half and at most twice the flow area 20 of the liquid supply to the device from the conduit. The arrangement is such that there is substantially free passage of liquid through the device and no substantial build-up of pressure therein. As shown the total flow area of the openings 22 is substantially equal to the flow area 20. The disc 14 may have various shapes to provide flow openings of different forms.
