Abstract

1282957 Aerating apparatus A KNAPP 15 July 1970 [15 July 1969] 34396/70 Heading B1C Water aerator which may for example be screwed into the outlet of a tap has a subdivider plate 3 having passages 5 through which water flows, the several jets meeting at a point P and atomizing the water. The plate 3 is held in place by a body 1 containing openings 9 through which air is drawn. The flow of aerated water is stabilised by a ball 12 supported on radial struts 13, or by one or more outlet meshes. The plate 3 has a raised portion 4 which may be conical (as shown) and formed with inclined passages, or be cylindrical (Fig. 3, not shown) with radial passages. The plate may be resilient to avoid the need for separate seals. An annular recess 14 is provided near the outlet to stabilise the atomized jet.
