Abstract
1,038,546. Testing fuel injectors and pumps. E. SATZGER. Sept. 6, 1963 [Sept. 18, 1962], No. 35366/63. Headings F1A and F1B. In apparatus for testing fuel injection pumps in which the test liquid is discharged from a test nozzle 2 into a damping device 4 from which it flows to a graduated vessel through a narrow outlet passage of capillary size between a pin 15 and oulet opening 14, the pin 15 has portions engaging the inner surface of the opening 14 for accurate centring thereof. The liquid is discharged into a chamber 4 having a transparent wall and flows through valve 10 to the space within a tube 6 from which it escapes through orifices 12 to the outlet chamber 13. The surface of the pin 15 may be hexagonal with the edges thereof guided on the surface of the opening 14; alternatively guide ribs may be formed on the pin 15.
