Abstract
367,496. Fluid-actuated valves WILLIAMSON, F. E., 13, Coupar Street, Dundee. Dec. 19, 1930,. No. 38297. [Class 135.] Valves closing with rush of fluid.-A device for regulating the flow of liquids or gases comprises a spring-loaded bellows, diaphragm or piston having a port adapted to co-operate with an adjustably fixed pointed or ported needle. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the piston M has a central port D opposite a pointed needle G adjustably mounted in a member F and protected by a cover B. In a modification a needle having axial grooves is mounted in the port D and is held in position by a screwed member similar to the needle G. In the form shown in Fig. 11, ported disc H mounted on a bellows I co-operates with an adjustable needle G and is also provided with a skirt C<1> arranged to close a narrow outlet port 2. Fluid passes to the outlet port by way of chamber 3 and passages 4. In a modification of this form the piston itself obturates the outlet port.
