Class 106(5) A liquid dispensing device comprises a cylindrical chamber 1 mounted on a base 4 between an upper cap 2 and lower cap 3, separate inlet and outlet passages in the lower cap and base, a conical valve member 7 controlling the inlet and outlet passages, and a rod 21 secured to the lower cap 3 and extending through the upper cap 2 to provide for the clamping together of the' upper and lower caps. The rod is provided near its upper end with a port 23 leading to a bore 24 in the rod which is adapted to be brought into communication through a passage 25 in the base 4 with a passage 26 in the valve member, while the upper cap 2 is provided with a separate air vent 9 controlled by a float 8 in a cup 8a secured to the upper cap. In operation, the valve 7 is turned so that the supply inlet 5 and the inlet passage 14 are connected by the inlet port 13, the air in the vessel escaping through the air vent 9 until the float rises and closes it with the level of the liquid still below the port 23; the valve is now turned so that the liquid is dispersed through the passages 17, 16 to the delivery pipe 6, while air entering through the vent 9 escapes through the bore 24 of rod 21 and passages 25, 26.
