Abstract
912,865. Combing-machines. SOC. ALSA CIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES. Sept. 12, 1960 [Sept. 11, 1959], No. 31299/60. Class 120 (1). A rectilinear combing-machine has the nipper mechanism formed by two substantially horizontal levers, the forward ends of which constitute jaws and the rearward ends are engaged in guide means that cause the jaws to open and close as the levers are moved to and fro in such manner that the lower jaw follows an arcuate path concentric with the lower detaching roll. The rearward upper detaching roll 13 is mounted for movement along the periphery of the lower detaching roll 11 in synchronism with the rearward displacements of the nipper jaws 27, 28. In order that such movement may be effected, the roll 13 is carried by a lever 17 connected through an oscillating arm 19 to a link 23 and a cam-oscillated fork 25 that pivots about a shaft 26 from which the nippers are suspended by an arm 29. Fixed guide tracks 41, 42 determine the paths to be followed by nipper jaws 27, 28. The lower detaching roll 11 may have a resilient cover or may be a fluted steel roll and the upper rolls 13, 14 may have resilient covers.
