Abstract
904,717. Storage bunkers. MINING ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Nov. 18, 1960 [Dec. 11, 1959], No. 42139/59. Class 78 (4). The bottom of a bunker providing temporary storage in a mine transport system is formed by a belt 13 (Fig. 2) which can be rolled or folded downwardly from the outbye end towards the inbye end to permit material to fall from the bunker. In the form illustrated the belt is anchored on its upper run at 15 and passes over closely spaced rollers 26 and a reversing drum 16 to a two-drum winch at the inbye end. The rollers 26 and drum 16 are carried by a trolley 28 (Fig. 4) supported by rollers 29 from rails 32 so that, as the winch draws the belt in, the trolley is retracted with the belt to leave the bottom of the bunker 10 clear. The trolley can be propelled outbye again by a cable (not shown) from the second drum of the winch. The trolley 28 may comprise articulated portions, and the frame of the bunker may also be articulated so that it adapts to unevenness in the floor. The bunker is shown as fed by a telescoping belt conveyer 12 and is discharged by a scraper conveyer 18 which has an inclined portion 19 to which the belt 12 can deliver directly. Alternatively the bunker may be alongside the belt 12 and may be fed from it by a plough. The belt 12 may be capable of delivering directly to wagons at the outbye end of the bunker.
