Abstract

983,182. Endless conveyers. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. June 15, 1961 [June 16, 1960], No. 21210/60. Heading B8A. To prevent longitudinal creep of a flexible armoured face conveyer C when resting on an inclined floor of a mine, the higher end of the conveyer is connected to a carriage 19 of which rollers 20 are accommodated in a track consisting of three separable sections 10. Four hook shaped track connectors 15 are each provided with a pocket 18 to receive an hydraulic roof prop P for anchoring the track. The carriage 19 is connected to the conveyer C by a vertical pivot pin 21 and by horizontal pivot pins 23. For guiding a wire rope W which is used for restraining and assisting a power loading machine (not shown), a frame 25 having pulleys 26 is pivoted to the carriage 19. A bracket 27 is pivotally connected to the frame 25 and is anchored by a roof prop in a pocket 28. . As the conveyer is advanced in the direction A, the track section remote from the mine face becomes clear and, as the mine face advances further, the removed section of the track is installed at the end nearer the face.
