Abstract

884,384. Pit props. EGGEMANN, W., and CAMPENHAUSEN, E. VON, [trading as SCHWARZ KOMM-GES., HERMANN]. Aug. 7, 1958 [Aug. 10, 1957], No. 25307/58. Class 20(2) Heavy pit props 13 with large head and foot plates are moved forward in long wall mine workings by a rope &c. 24 passing round a guide 22 and attached by a hook 25 to a hauling chain 20 extending along the seam face. The chain may be mounted on the conveyer 12 and be wound alternately over sprockets at each end or the chain may be endless and driven around sprockets at each end. The rope 24 may be provided with a resilient member to prevent damage if the pit prop is obstructed.
