Abstract
870,818. Conveying material from the working face in mines. MINING ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Jan. 4, 1960 [Jan. 2, 1959], No. 142/59. Class 78 (4). The telescopic end portion 11 (Fig. 1), of a belt conveyer is supported on a storage bunker 16 which houses the return drum 14 of the belt conveyer, and is unloaded by a scraper chain, plate conveyer or other conveyer. In the form illustrated the contents of the bunker 16 are delivered to an elevator 17 loading trucks 18 (Fig. 3), and the end 11 of the belt conveyer can be moved so that it also delivers directly to the elevator 17. When, however, no trucks 18 are available to be loaded the end 11 of the conveyer is retracted to feed the bunker 16. Alternatively the bunker 16 may deliver to a separate loading station. The belt conveyer 11 may be arranged as described in Specification 867,302. A plough may be mounted below the end roller 12 to trim the content of the bunker 16.
