Abstract
894,498. Laminates. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. May 9, 1960 [May 8, 1959], No. 15892/59. Class 140. [Also in Group XXXVI] A mass-impregnated electric cable comprises a conductor with dielectric comprising at least in part layers of helically lapped plastics tapes separated by layers of felted fibrous material. The plastics tapes are high molecular weight, high-melting point carbonic acid polyesters described in Specifications 772,627, 808,485, 808,486, 808,488, 808,489, and sold as " Makrofol " (Registered Trade Mark). The fibrous layers are tapes of short matted plastics fibres or of paper, lapped on separately from or simultaneously with the plastics tape(s), or of short plastics fibres adhesively matted on to the surface(s) of the plastics tape before winding.
