Abstract
1357130 Insulating coils of electrical machines ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 20 Oct 1971 [21 Oct 1970] 48693/71 Heading H2A [Also in Division D2] For arrangement in electric machine rotor or stator slots 14, a coil comprising a bundle of closely arranged mutually electrically insulated conductors 10, has a main insulation 21'surrounding the bundle to insulate it from the slot and which comprises a wound tape- or sheet-like layer which includes a mixture of small mica flakes and cellulose fibres of which mixture the weight of the former is from 25 to 60% of the total weight of the mica flakes and cellulose fibres. Such layer may be used alone, or glued to a carrier layer of polymer fibres, and after winding it is dried, inpregnated with an epoxy resin, possibly wrapped with a P.T.F.E. sealing tape to prevent the resin extruding, and then the resin is cured. The layer is either in tape form on both the straight slot limbs 12, 13 and the curved ends 15 ... 18 of the coil, or in sheet form on the limbs and tape form on the ends. The bundle may be several turns of a single conductor, or several separate conductors, insulated at 11 by glass or other fibre, or mica, and impregnated by resin.
