Abstract
945,698. Insulation for dynamo-electric machines. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. June 29, 1962 [July 14, 1961; Aug. 25, 1961], No. 25082/62. Heading H2A. A method of producing electric machine winding insulated conductor stacks comprises wrapping the entire length of the stacks with an insulating tape e.g. of glass silk and mica, impregnating the wrapping with a solvent-free resin, placing pressure members along the sides of the end connections and possibly the core portions of the stacks, wrapping the stacks and pressure members with a saturated polyester contraction tape, shrinking the contraction wrapping by a heat treatment, curing the impregnating resin, and finally removing the contraction wrapping and pressure members. The contraction tape may be terephthalic ester wound in at least two layers of opposite senses. The pressure members may provide an elliptical cross-section and comprise asbestos or sandbags.
