Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to apply a conventional connecting method and reduce the skin effect, by laying conductor wires in radial segments and interposing an insulator tape between the segments.
CONSTITUTION: Each segment 1 consists of a central conductor wire group 2 and a peripheral insulator tape 3. Ordinarily four to six segments are gathered or twisted with one another to form a split conductor. The conductor wires 4 are laid in the radial segments. The insulator tape 3 such as kraft paper is interposed between the segments to separate them from one another. Thus, the wires 4 of an identical segment are out of contact of those of the other segments and have almost the same potential. Therefore, the skin effect is reduced to almost the same degree as by the insulation of each wire.
