Class 64(2) In an electric thermal storage space heater, heated by means of a resistance element 4 mounted on a former 5, a damper 9 covers the upper end of the duct 7, and, by means of a knob 10, is moved into the open position when additional heat is required from the heater, the damper being biased to its closed position, and being held in this open position by means which release the damper when the current is supplied to the heater. In the form shown, the damper when opened is retained in that position by the interengagement of a stop member 13 on the damper and a stop member 12, which is heated by the resistance 15 in the electric current supply 16. Thus if the damper is left open during recharging, the expansion of the bimetallic strip 14 causes the stop members 12 and 13 to become disengaged, enabling the damper to spring to the closed position.
