Abstract
780,641. Thermal switches. ROBERTSHAW-FULTON CONTROLS CO. Dec. 19, 1955 [May 19, 1955], No. 36358/55. Class 38 (5). In a thermal time-delay switch in which convective heat from a heating resistor 12 causes a bimetallic contact arm 20 to disengage a fixed contact 28 after a certain time, a baffle 36 carried on a bimetallic strip 38 disposed between the heater 12 and the contact arm 20, is moved to deflect the convection currents and so maintain the time-delay constant under varying voltage and ambient temperature conditions. The heater 12 may be independently energized, or be in series with contacts 20, 28 to cause cycling.
