Abstract

The thermostats (1) is used to control the charging and heat output of an electric storage heating system, in dependence on the ambient temperature. It employs a bimetallic switch (10), with two working contacts (B-E) and a fixed contact (C) an electromagnetic relay with two inverter contacts (12, 13). The latter are connected in series with a control resistance (6) and a fan (7) with the supply circuit for the control resistance (6) closed via the fixed contact (C) of the bimetallic switch and the supply circuit for the fan (7) and the relay control coil (11) closed via the two working contacts (B-E). The relay control coil (11) may be mounted in series with the working contact (8) of a timer switch.
