Abstract

786,121. Thermal switches. PROCTOR ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 3, 1955, No. 28052/55. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXV] A thermal switch comprises a contact-carrying bi-metal strip 30 acted upon by a heater 31 spaced therefrom by strips 40-42 of metal gauze, asbestos and mica, respectively, the other surface of the heater being covered by strips 43, 44 of mica and asbestos, respectively, and the whole being faced by brass strips 45, 46 about which a clamp 47 is fitted. The " fixed " contact 33 has a resilient support 34 acted upon both by an adjustment cam 36 and a bi-metal ambient temperature compensating strip 50.
