[Also in Group XIII] A thermostat controlling a spaceheater has an accelerating heater 3 which is carried by a clip 7 formed by the crosspiece of a U-shaped bimetal element 4. When cold, the heater 3 is in contact with the thermal element 5 of the thermostat, but when heated, the element 4 deflects and moves the heater away from the element 5 and reduces its effect thereon.
